Essentia Health in the news: Recapping media coverage for March

April 01, 2025  By: Louie St. George

Media interview

Our media team was busy in March, highlighting important stories across the Essentia Health service area. A Vergas, Minnesota, man spoke appreciatively of the lifesaving care he received at Essentia — first in Detroit Lakes, then Fargo.

“I’m extremely grateful,” 67-year-old Arden Shulstad told Fargo-based TV station KVRR of being treated for an abdominal aortic aneurysm. “A lot of people did the right thing. A lot of people were on the ball and did their job right that day.”

Other media coverage focused on Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, our collaboration with the American Heart Association to distribute “CPR Anytime Kits” and Essentia’s leadership of community conversations around potential Medicaid cuts.

Each month, we share some of our favorite Essentia-related stories on the Newsroom. Here are a few of the highlights from March; please note that some of these stories require log-in credentials and thus may not be accessible for all.
