Volunteer Positions
The type of work you will do depends on the needs of the location where you volunteer. Volunteer Services will help you find a volunteer position that’s a good fit for you. Mention your special skills when you apply. For example, tell us if you play a musical instrument or enjoy knitting. You may:
- Greet and escort patients and visitors
- Assist in health care departments
- Stock supplies
- Volunteer in a gift shop
- Help with administrative work
- Help coordinate fundraising events and projects
- Assist Hospice patients and families
- Provide pet therapy
- Grief Support
Volunteer Requirements
You’ll gain the skills and knowledge you need for your volunteer position during your orientation and training. But you must be:
- Able to volunteer on a regular basis for at least 3 months
- Some Essentia locations require volunteers to be at least 18 years of age
- Able to pass a background check
