Volunteer Positions

The type of work you will do depends on the needs of the location where you volunteer. Volunteer Services will help you find a volunteer position that’s a good fit for you. Mention your special skills when you apply. For example, tell us if you play a musical instrument or enjoy knitting. You may:

  • Greet and escort patients and visitors
  • Assist in health care departments
  • Stock supplies
  • Volunteer in a gift shop
  • Help with administrative work
  • Help coordinate fundraising events and projects
  • Assist Hospice patients and families
  • Provide pet therapy

Volunteer Requirements

You’ll gain the skills and knowledge you need for your volunteer position during your orientation and training. But you must be:

  • Able to volunteer on a regular basis for at least 3 months
  • Some Essentia locations require volunteers to be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Vaccinated for COVID-19 and seasonal flu
