Text Message Notifications to Patients and Representatives: Terms and Conditions
SMS Terms and Conditions
Essentia Health by and for itself and on behalf of its affiliates (“Essentia Health”), offers access to information via recurring SMS (Short Message Service) text alerts to “opted-in” subscribers. “Opted-in” subscribers’ consent to and understand that message notifications include updates related to their visits, MyChart account, one-time passcode, billing notifications, prescription reminders, and care management.
Text messages should not be relied on or used for emergency communications. In most cases the SMS text alerts are one-way communications that recipients cannot reply to.
Message Frequency
Following opting in to receive notifications, the frequency of text messages received will vary based on the text messages services, number of text message services in which the patient enrolled, and frequency of services received from Essentia Health.
User Opt-Out
You can opt-out of SMS messages by texting STOP to respective short code. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive SMS messages from the short code you opted out from. If you want to join again, sign up using MyChart or text HELP to the short code for instructions.

Delivery of information and content to a mobile device may fail due to a variety of circumstances and conditions. Delivery of text messages is subject to effective transmission from your wireless service provider which is beyond the control of Essentia Health. Accordingly, neither Essentia Health nor the carriers are liable for any delays or failures in the receipt of any text messages.
