Heather Swanson, MD

Dr. Heather Swanson, MD, is a Family Medicine with OB provider at Essentia Health Pierz Clinic. She joined Essentia Health in 2023. 

Dr. Swanson earned her doctorate of medicine with honors at the University of Minnesota Medical School She received her Masters of Public Health from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, and her bachelor’s of arts-mathematics, Cum Laude from Boston University. Dr. Swanson completed her residency training at Via Christi Regional Medical Center.  

Dr. Swanson was the winner of the "Resident Roundtable Contest" with her case presentation on findings from a literature review on "Acute Fatty Liver of Pregnancy." Dr. Swanson is a member of  the American Academy of Family Physicians, Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Minnesota Perinatal Organization, and American Diabetes Association.  

Dr. Swanson’s interests include family medicine, pregnancy and women's health, preventive health, hypertension, and diabetes management.
