Michele Thieman, MD

Dr. Michele Thieman has been with Essentia Health since May 2008. Originally from Colorado, Dr. Thieman grew up in a medical household and spent hours discussing interesting medical cases with her father, also a family medicine physician.

Dr. Thieman attended University of Minnesota where she received her medical degree and master’s degree in public health. She went on to complete her family medicine residency training at University of Minnesota North Memorial/Broadway Clinic in Minneapolis. As a medical student she spent 9 months at Park Rapids as a part of the Rural Physician Associate Program (RPAP), before returning here to practice.

Dr. Thieman enjoys caring for patients of all ages; helping patients prevent medical conditions is really her passion. She appreciates the opportunity to help patients deal with the challenges of chronic medical issues and aging. Dr. Thieman works to help patients understand and manage their medical conditions with self-care, including physical activity and healthy eating, in addition to appropriate medical care.
