Oral Cancer Medicine Side Effects
It's important to report any side effects to your health care team when you take cancer medicines. You may need to stop treatment for a while or change your dose.
Urgent Side Effects - Call Right Away
Call your health care team right away if you have a fever of 100.4° F (38° C) or higher and you have chills. It could be a sign of an infection.

Other Side Effects - Call Within 24 Hours
Call your health care team within 24 hours if you have any of the symptoms listed below. You'll need medical help, but it is not an emergency.
- You feel too sick to your stomach to eat and medicine does not help.
- You vomit more than 2 or 3 times in 24 hours.
- You have diarrhea more than 4 times in 24 hours.
- You have red, dry, cracked or peeling skin, especially on your hands and feet.
- You have a rash.
- You have bleeding or bruises that you did not have before.
- Your stools are black or there is blood in your stools or urine.
- You feel constipated.
- You feel too tired to take care of yourself.
- You have mouth sores that are red, painful, swollen or open sores.
- One leg or arm is painful, red or swollen.
- Your skin or eyes are yellow.
- The palms of your hands or soles of your feet are red, swollen, and tingle or burn.
- You feel confused or very sleepy.
- You lose your balance.
Always tell your healthcare team if you have any symptoms that are not normal.
