You or your loved one may benefit from staying in a skilled nursing facility if you don’t need the level of care provided in a hospital, but you’re not able to live safely at home.
Your care team can help you decide whether a skilled nursing facility is the best place for you. You may stay at the facility for a few days or weeks while recovering from surgery, or you might need to remain there long-term.
