Bio

Dr. Molly Kolquist-Kucza PsyD., LP is a Licensed Psychologist within Essentia’s Behavioral Health Department. She joined Essentia Health in Fall 2021 as a postdoctoral resident, and became independently licensed in Fall 2022.

Dr. Kolquist-Kucza was born and raised in Duluth, having graduated from Hermantown High School. She earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with honors at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She received her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University. Her dissertation was a research project examining mindfulness-based interventions being used within a school setting to promote resilience in adolescents. Prior to moving back to Duluth, she completed her internship training within the Child and Adolescent partial hospitalization programs at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Dr. Kolquist-Kucza’s clinical interests include utilizing a cognitive and behavioral therapeutic (CBT) approach in the treatment of anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with youth (ages 7-17 years old). She has also received specialized training in the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for treating OCD. In addition to outpatient psychotherapy, Dr. Kolquist-Kucza completes psychological testing; having been trained to assess and diagnose various mental health disorders including Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

For fun, Dr. Kolquist-Kucza enjoys spending time with her husband and family, playing competitive board games, and being outdoors with her goldendoodle, Walter.
