The Essentia Health-Fargo Foundation is called to make a healthy difference in people's lives by seeking support to provide the extra warmth and thoughtfulness to patients during a difficult time. 

Why Give?

The Foundation strives to enhance the patient's overall experience through patient-focused projects. 100% of the dollars raised by the Foundation go directly to initiatives in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Many of our projects help ease stress so patients and families can focus on healing.

Areas Of Giving

Direct your tax-deductible donation to any of the following foundation funds:

• Cancer Center Fund – We strive to provide comfort for patients with cancer and their families by helping with transportation, lodging, and wigs
• Compassionate Care Fund - Supporting patients and staff through a wide variety of ways, which includes providing clothing in our ER and support staff through COVID related challenges
• Heart & Vascular Fund – Helps heart failure patients learn healthy living skills, improve symptoms, and reduce risk of future problems
• Hope & Healing Fund – Directs your donation to the area where it will be most effective to support patients throughout their care
• NICU/Pediatrics Fund – Supports Essentia's commitment to expanding pediatric services and care by making health care more approachable for children and their families 

About the Foundation

The Essentia Health-Fargo Foundation was established in 2010 to improve the lives of patients and families at Essentia Health. We’re dedicated to supporting people through their journey to a healthy life and ensuring health care remains local and accessible to everyone who needs it.

The Essentia Health-Fargo Foundation plays an integral role in many areas of the hospital & clinics in the Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding communities. In 2019, we reached our goal of raising $1,000,000 to support the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Expansion project. Ongoing support for our Cancer Center patients includes gas cards, wigs, and other care items for patients in their time of need. A dedicated supply closet within the Emergency Room is stocked with sweatpants, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and stuffed animals for small children – all provided at no cost to the patient, allowing them a sense of dignity during their crisis.

We are proud of the dedication of our Employee Giving – PEERS (Promoting Employee Engagement & Raising our level of Service). Over 50% of our staff are actively engaged with the Fargo Foundation, and have provided numerous items to make our patients more comfortable: Mamava breastfeeding pods in multiple locations, distraction devices for the Child Life Specialists, Nic-View Cameras for the NICU, new infusion chairs for the Cancer Center, and plans are underway for a Healing Garden at 32nd Avenue.
